Axes and thematic units

CRIR orientates its research teams around two main axes where interdisciplinarity is at the heart of the projects for the diverse clientele served by each clinical setting:

  • Research axes coordinator :

These two axes are directly related to the clinical programming of the CRIR sites and the needs expressed by people with physical disabilities and their families, health care professionals, and communities. These axes and their thematic units are aimed at understanding different components of the International Classification of Functioning, Disability and Health (ICF) in relation to people of all ages living with a significant and persistent physical disability.

For each of these two axes, the leadership is exercised by an Axis Leader and a thematic unit director. The research axis coordinator supports the leaders and the work of the axes. Meetings are organized two to four times a year. Inter-axis collaboration is encouraged and examines, for example, the functional and psychosocial impact of technologies on users and their interaction with their environment.
