Job description

The Institut universitaire sur la réadaptation en déficience physique de Montréal (IURDPM) is seeking a Communications Officer for a full-time assignment. Under the supervision of the Head of Department and in close collaboration with the scientific direction of the IURDPM-CRIR, the candidate’s main mandate will be to support the internal and external communications of the IURDPM.

Main tasks

  • Contribute to the development of IURDPM’s communication plan to reach different target audiences.
  • Develop and manage the IURDPM partner list, participate in internal and external communications.
  • Manage the IURDPM website (editing, content review, usage indicators, etc.)
  • Contribute to the development of information tools and knowledge transfer products of the IURDPM, such as the newsletter.
  • Ensure the dissemination of IURDPM news and success stories in the relevant IURDPM and CCSMTL tools.
  • Capture and document in a register the achievements of IURDPM researchers and disseminate them through various IURDPM, CIUSSS and CRIR channels.
  • Follow up on communication requests with researchers and IURDPM team members (media requests, use of social media).
  • Participate in the organization of events such as partner meetings, symposiums or activities for the general public.
  • Support the implementation of IURDPM’s scientific activities (lunchtime conferences, student presentations, etc.).
  • Write and prepare minutes, presentations, reports, and contribute to the IURDPM’s annual review.

Profile required

  • Academic level: University degree with specialization in communications, other education may be considered with significant work experience in communications.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years experience in a communications-related position. Experience in a scientific or rehabilitation environment is an asset.
  • Language skills: excellent writing and communication skills in French, bilingualism an asset, ability to synthesize and popularize information.
  • Technological skills: autonomy in the use of the Office© suite, page layout software and other software relevant to the position, knowledge of web tools and social media.
  • Personal skills: sense of responsibility, autonomy, creativity, ability to work in a context of cooperation and partnership, thoroughness and attention to detail, ability to work on several files at once. Open-mindedness, ability to listen to others and to adapt to the realities of each person.
