CLEA Laboratory — Child and Adolescent Language and Communication
Description
This laboratory is generally interested in the development of language and speech in unilingual and bilingual children particularly in a French-speaking environment. The laboratory plans to further explore various aspects of language and speech (phonology and articulation, vocabulary, discourse and pragmatics) with observational type studies among participants presenting with typical or atypical development (language development disorder, Development of the Sound of Speech Disorders, autism spectrum disorders, etc.). The results of research conducted by CLEA have theoretical implications not only for understanding language/speech but also their disorders. At the clinical level, this lab’s research has impacts on speech therapy evaluation. Studies are currently under way on speech/language intervention.
