In this month of nutrition, this conference aims to put this discipline in the spotlight by exploring food literacy interventions and their strong interdisciplinary potential.

This French conference will highlight the breadth of dimensions involved in feeding oneself (in addition to eating), define what food literacy is, and discuss possible applications in rehabilitation through the presentation of theoretical models and concrete examples.

This conference will be given by three researchers who, through the lens of their respective disciplines, take a complementary look at food literacy interventions.

Aline Bogossian, TS, Ph.D.

Regular Researcher, CRIR-CRLLM
Associate Professor, School of Social Work, Université de Montréal.

Aline is particularly interested in autonomy support mechanisms during the transition from childhood to adulthood.

 

MAUDE PERREAULT, DT.P., PH.D.

Regular Researcher, Centre Jean-Jacques Gauthier, CIUSSS-NIM
Assistant Professor, Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, Université de Montréal

Maude studies nutrition from the perspective of societal public health issues, and is interested in food literacy in the context of chronic disease management.

 

Frédérique Poncet, Erg., Ph.D.

Regular Researcher, CRIR-CRLLM and Institutional Researcher, CRLLM
Assistant Professor at McGill University’s School of Physical and Occupational Therapy and Associate Professor at Université de Montréal’s School of Optometry.

Frédérique has developed GUSTO, an intervention designed to improve functional performance in food literacy for people with acquired brain injuries and cognitive disorders.
