Research Officer

Job description

The position is a continuation of data collection and analysis for a multi-center funded study on social participation of individuals with traumatic brain injury (TBI).

The incumbent will:

  • Continue data collection with participating rehabilitation centers.
  • Supervise a research assistant who is conducting data collection with CBT research participants living in the community (longitudinal component of the project).
  • Conduct statistical analysis of data according to the study objectives and act as a resource person in this regard.
  • Play an important role in the writing of scientific articles, the continuation of a systematic review of the literature that is underway and the updating of the literature review for the project.
  • Perform various administrative tasks (e.g., compensation of research participants).

Profile required

  • Bachelor’s degree (with research experience) or Master’s degree in an appropriate field of specialization (psychology, cognitive neuroscience, rehabilitation, etc.).
  • Knowledge of quantitative analysis methods required for longitudinal and predictive studies and statistical software such as SPSS or R.
  • Excellent oral and written skills in French and English.
  • Very good scientific writing skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills, rigor and flexibility.
  • Positive and enthusiastic personality.
  • Asset: Knowledge of research in physical rehabilitation and social participation.

Work conditions

  • Duration of the position: 1 year, possibly renewable depending on the availability of research funds.
  • Salary: According to the current salary scale, depending on experience level.
  • Immediate supervisor: Michelle McKerral.
  • Primary Work Location: Gingras-Lindsay site, CRIR-IURDPM-CCSMTL (6300 Darlington Avenue, Montreal) or Marie-Victorin Pavilion, Université de Montréal (90 Vincent-D’Indy Avenue, Montreal) or remotely.
  • Work schedule: Part-time, between 21 and 28 hours per week, depending on availability.
  • Starting date: February 2022.
