It is distinguished by the excellence, breadth and diversity of its research in rehabilitation, as well as through its interdisciplinary, intersectoral and knowledge mobilization initiatives. These initiatives have an important a powerful impact in the clinical, scientific, public and community sectors. CRIR provides an extraordinary environment for the training of new researchers, and is also a model of partnership and administrative synergy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>CRIR\u2019s mission and objectives<\/h2>\n<p>CRIR\u2019s ambition is to better meet the needs of people of all ages with a physical disability. Its mission is &#8220;to optimize the functional capacity, performance, participation and social inclusion of people living with physical disabilities through research in the domains of biomedical and psychosocial rehabilitation&#8221;.<\/p>\n<p>Building on the significant achievements since 2000, CRIR continues to promote excellence in rehabilitation research and to expand innovative research to meet emerging priorities in the field, basing its success on interdisciplinarity and the integration of the biomedical and psychosocial aspects with the rehabilitation process.<\/p>\n<h2>CRIR\u2019s 2022-2028 Strategics Orientations<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Integrate interdisciplinary and intersectoral perspectives for state-of-the-art rehabilitation<\/li>\n<li>Develop innovative strategies to support the continuum of rehabilitation services from acute care to the community<\/li>\n<li>Promote inclusion, justice and social participation through inclusive environments<\/li>\n<li>Advance the science of knowledge mobilization and translation<\/li>\n<li>Adapt to societal challenges in an agile manner<\/li>\n<li>Accelerate research in clinical settings by addressing organizational, ethical and policy issues<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h6>We invite you to discover how these 6 orientations come to life through \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/en\/research\/orientations-strategiques-du-crir\/\">The Faces of CRIR Research<\/a>\u201d. CLICK <a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/en\/research\/crirs-strategics-orientations\/\">HERE<\/a> TO DISCOVER THIS <a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/en\/research\/crirs-strategics-orientations\/\">SHORT SERIES OF 6 VIDEOS<\/a> HIGHLIGHTING THE PERSONAL STORIES OF INDIVIDUALS WHO INSPIRE RESEARCH AT CRIR.<\/h6>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>CRIR in numbers<\/h2>\n<p>CRIR has <strong>124 regular and associate researchers<\/strong>\u00a0divided into two research axes, including <strong>16 fellows<\/strong> and <strong>10 research chairs<\/strong> over the past five years.<\/p>\n<p>Over <strong>193 clinician\/health care professional<\/strong> collaborate with the researchers, and also conduct their own research projects.<\/p>\n<p>CRIR researchers supervise <strong>more than\u00a0400 students<\/strong>, half of whom are doctoral students.<\/p>\n<p>CRIR researchers and their teams are grouped in more than <strong>60 laboratories and research groups<\/strong> located at various CRIR sites (CRLLM, HJR, INLB, IURDPM).<\/p>\n<p>Annually, the <strong>Research Ethics Board\u00a0<\/strong>(REB)\u00a0<em>en readaptation et en d\u00e9ficience physique<\/em> (RDP) evaluates an average of <strong>70 new research projects.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Thanks to all these partners, CRIR is today one of the largest research centers in rehabilitation in Canada!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>University affiliations<\/h2>\n<p>The majority of CRIR&#8217;s researchers are professors at the <a lang=\"fr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.umontreal.ca\/\">Universit\u00e9 de Montr\u00e9al<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mcgill.ca\/\">McGill University<\/a> and the <a lang=\"fr\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uqam.ca\/\">Universit\u00e9 du Qu\u00e9bec \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al<\/a>\u00a0(UQAM).
