CRIR is a research centre that specializes in several disciplines, hence its name as an <em>interdisciplinary<\/em> research center. CRIR researchers are experts in more than fifteen disciplines (from anthropology and interior design to social services, including physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, epidemiology and psychology). <a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/en\/about\/about-crir\/\">Find out more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n<div class=\"accordeon\">\n            <h2>Who directs CRIR?<\/h2>\n            <div class=\"panneau\" id=\"panneau-2\">\n                <\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Comit\u00e9 de gouvernance du CRIR (CGC)<\/strong>\u00a0has ensured the collaborative governance of CRIR. The scientific direction is provided by Claudine Auger, AssociateProfessor at <em>\u00c9cole de r\u00e9adaptation<\/em> of the <em>Universite\u0301 de Montre\u0301al<\/em> and Philippe Archambault, Associate Professor at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy at McGill University. <a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/a-propos\/le-pur-en-bref\/\">Find out more<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n<div class=\"accordeon\">\n            <h2>What is CRIR\u2019s mission?<\/h2>\n            <div class=\"panneau\" id=\"panneau-3\">\n                <\/p>\n<p>CRIR&#8217;s mission is to optimize the functional capacity, performance, participation and social inclusion of people living with physical disabilities through research in the domains of biomedical and psychosocial rehabilitation.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n<div class=\"accordeon\">\n            <h2>What are the research axes?<\/h2>\n            <div class=\"panneau\" id=\"panneau-4\">\n                <\/p>\n<p>Axis 1: Sensory, motor and cognitive functions and activities.<\/p>\n<p>Axis 2: Participation, social inclusion and rehabilitation services.<\/p>\n<p>These two axes are divided into two themes.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, see <a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/research\/axes-and-thematic-units\/?lang=en\">Axes and Thematic Units<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n<div class=\"accordeon\">\n            <h2>What are the research themes<\/h2>\n            <div class=\"panneau\" id=\"panneau-5\">\n                <\/p>\n<p>Axis 1 focuses <strong>on sensory, motor and cognitive functions and activities<\/strong> and is organized around two themes: functional mechanisms, and physical and cognitive activities.<\/p>\n<p>Axis 2 focuses on <strong>participation, social inclusion and rehabilitation services<\/strong> and is organized around two themes: the person, their entourage and the community, and services, systems and policies.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, see <a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/research\/axes-and-thematic-units\/?lang=en\">Axes and Thematic Units<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\n\n            <\/div>\n        <\/div>\n<div class=\"accordeon\">\n            <h2>How do you become a member of CRIR?<\/h2>\n            <div class=\"panneau\" id=\"panneau-6\">\n                <\/p>\n<p><strong>Researchers or clinician\/health care professional members<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To become a regular or associate researcher, or a clinician\/health care professional member of CRIR, the candidate must submit an application to the scientific direction indicating his or her interest in habilitation\/rehabilitation research, the time he\/she wishes to devote to research at CRIR, and a curriculum vitae. Candidates should refer to the <a href=\"https:\/\/crir.ca\/en\/members-and-health-care-professional\/how-to-become-a-member\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Becoming a Member<\/a> section to access the application or renewal form.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Students<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any student enrolled in an affiliated university in a graduate research program, or postdoctoral fellow who carries out research work at CRIR under the direction or supervision of a CRIR regular researcher becomes a student member.
