{"id":14453,"date":"2021-12-14T10:45:22","date_gmt":"2021-12-14T15:45:22","guid":{"rendered":"\/"},"modified":"2021-12-14T11:00:00","modified_gmt":"2021-12-14T16:00:00","slug":"postdoctoral-fellowship-offeruniversity-of-british-columbia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/crir.ca\/en\/postdoctoral-fellowship-offeruniversity-of-british-columbia\/","title":{"rendered":"Postdoctoral fellowship offer|University of British Columbia"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Postdoctoral fellowship offer<\/h3>\n<h4>Project\u00a0title<\/h4>\n<p>Development of a decision aid for treatment in spinal muscular atrophy<\/p>\n<h4>OVERVIEW<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Research directors:\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Kathryn Selby,\u00a0Dr.\u00a0Maryam\u00a0Oskoui<\/li>\n<li>Administrative unit:\u00a0Division of Neurology<\/li>\n<li>Location:\u00a0Vancouver,\u00a0University of British Columbia<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4>PROJECT DESCRIPTION<\/h4>\n<p>The objective of this research project is to develop a decision aid to support clinicians and families to select a treatment plan for\u00a0individuals\u00a0affected by\u00a0SMA.<\/p>\n<p>With the support of the\u00a0research\u00a0team, the postdoctoral fellow will:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acquire training on the Ottawa Decision Aid\u00a0Framework.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct a decision need assessment among SMA leading clinicians and families<\/li>\n<li>Develop\u00a0a decision aid.<\/li>\n<li>Write a grant proposal for implementation and assessment of the SMA decision aid to CIHR.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This postdoctoral fellowship will take place at the\u00a0University of British Columbia (UBC)\u00a0in collaboration with Muscular Dystrophy Canada\u00a0(MDC)\u00a0and the Neuromuscular\u00a0Disease Network for\u00a0Canada\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/neuromuscularnetwork.ca\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">NMD4C<\/a>).
