Researchers Phillipe Archambautl, erg, Ph.D.<\/a> (CRIR-HJR, McGill) and F\u00e9lix Ch\u00e9nier, Ph.D.<\/a> (CRIR-IURDPM, UQAM) are looking for Master’s Students in Rehabilitation Sciences for a project in the field of robotic-assisted rehabilitation.<\/h1>\n

This project would start as soon as possible.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Recently, our team built a manual wheelchair propulsion simulator with virtual reality, which combines visual immersion, tilt, and force feedback. This simulator aims to train wheelchair users to become more independent and adopt a propulsion technique that protects their shoulders.<\/p>\n

The project aims to use this simulator to generate feedback <\/strong>and automated reports<\/strong> for the user and their therapist, in the form of graphs and reports.<\/p>\n

The student will:<\/strong><\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Select the biomechanical variables to present to users as well as their presentation format, using an iterative co-design process involving researchers, users, and clinicians.<\/li>\n
  2. Program methods for calculating and displaying these variables.<\/li>\n
  3. Validate the improvement of the propulsion technique through feedback of the variables chosen in the previous step, during a preliminary study with two groups of participants.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
