Additional funding to support the needs of people living with visual impairment<\/h2>\n

Last fall, the CRIR, in collaboration with the Fondation Habilitas<\/a> and the CIUSSS West-Central Montreal<\/strong>, announced the funding of seven projects submitted as part of the New Initiatives program<\/a> – 2024\u20132025 competition. Today, we are pleased to announce that an eighth project<\/strong>, among those recommended by the program\u2019s evaluation committee, will be launched thanks to funding from the Fonds de l\u2019Institut Nazareth and Louis\u2011Braille (Fonds INLB) of the CISSS de la Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie\u2011Centre.<\/p>\n

This newly funded project, entitled \u201cInvestigating the Influence of Visual and Non\u2011Visual Cues on Vestibulo\u2011Ocular Reflex Dynamics,\u201d is led by Maxime Maheu<\/strong> <\/a>(researcher, CRIR \u2013 IURDPM) and Isabelle Faubert<\/strong> (clinician member, CRIR \u2013 IURDPM). The project aims to lay the groundwork for the development of methods to assess vestibular function in individuals living with visual impairments. This initiative aligns with the mission of the Fonds INLB, which is to support the needs of this population.<\/p>\n

We congratulate the entire research team on the launch of this new initiative and thank our partner, the CISSS of Mont\u00e9r\u00e9gie\u2011Centre, for its support of clinical research!<\/p>\n
