The work location will be the <strong>Lethbridge-Layton-MacKay Rehabilitation Centre (LLMRC)<\/strong> to support research focused primarily on the biomechanical, neuromuscular and clinical aspects of osteoarthritis and sports biomechanics, under the direction of Dr. Shawn Robbins. The position is part-time at approximately<strong> 16 hours\/week.<\/strong> A successful applicant will support all technical aspects of lab activities, including equipment set-up, data acquisition and analysis. Additional duties include subject recruitment, assisting in the preparation of grant applications and journal papers, assisting graduate students with data acquisition and experimental design, managing day-to-day operations of the laboratory, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Operations at the LLMRC are conducted in both English and French, and a working knowledge of both languages is necessary.<br \/>\nApplicants should hold a graduate degree (MSc, PhD) in kinesiology, physical therapy, occupational therapy, biomedical engineering or other related discipline, and be legally entitled to work in Canada. They must have 2 years of research experience.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, applicants should have experience in many of the following areas:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Kinematic motion analysis and modeling<\/li>\n<li>Kinetic\/force plate data acquisition<\/li>\n<li>Surface electromyography<\/li>\n<li>Research methodology<\/li>\n<li>Matlab programming (or similar programming experience)<\/li>\n<li>Statistical analysis (e.g. SPSS)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Experience in the following areas is also desirable:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Clinical gait analysis<\/li>\n<li>Medical imaging<\/li>\n<li>Visual 3D<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The successful applicant will support research in a laboratory at the LLMRC which is equipped with:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>8 camera Qualisys motion capture system<\/li>\n<li>16-channel Delsys Trigno wireless surface EMG system with integrated tri-axial accelerometers<\/li>\n<li>2 AMTI force plates<\/li>\n<li>Cybex Norm Isokinetic Dynamometer<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The position is for a 1 year contract (16 hours\/week) beginning in September 2019.
