Vera Granikov, MLIS, Ph.D.

Vera is a postdoctoral research fellow with the Canada Research Chair in Partnership with Patients and Communities, funded by the Fonds de recherche du Québec (FRQ). She holds a PhD in Information Science from McGill University. She has nearly 17 years of experience in health information and patient-oriented research.

As a researcher, an information specialist, and an engaged citizen, Vera is dedicated to contributing to a learning society by promoting health literacy through collaboration and engagement.

 

 

conference description

Building and sustaining relationships is central to participatory research. In this presentation, Vera will share insights from a multiple case study focused on strengthening health literacy capacity through community engagement and collaborative learning.

Vera will highlight how relationship-building shaped the research process. She will discuss the tools and strategies that helped navigate challenges and build trust, for example, the concept of relational accountability and the ‘essay in two voices’ technique. The presentation will include opportunities for questions and discussion on potential challenges and solutions related to participatory research.
