We are currently seeking a Research Coordinator to support a clinical research project investigating the use of neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) for children with dysphagia, conducted at the CRIR- Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre, site Mackay under the supervision of Dr. Daniel. This is a paid, part-time position (estimated 8–12 hours per week), with flexible scheduling and the possibility of remote work for certain tasks.
Project Summary:
This prospective study explores the efficacy of NMES therapy in pediatric patients with dysphagia. The research involves patient recruitment, informed consent and assent, standardized outcomes collection (including questionnaires and clinical assessments), and data management.
Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
- Assist in recruitment of participants, including the control group
- Coordinate with families to schedule virtual meetings and obtain informed consent
- Collect patient-reported outcome measures and clinical data
- Extract, organize, and enter data in accordance with research protocols
- Ensure compliance with ethical guidelines and data protection regulations
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in clinical or academic research, particularly with pediatric populations, is an asset
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Comfort with virtual communication tools (e.g., Microsoft Teams)
- Comfort with data extraction tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel)
- Bilingualism (French and English) is preferred
