Sexualités Sans Tabous : Symposium and Photo Exhibition Opening

Too often, people with disabilities continue to face misconceptions suggesting that they have neither sexual desires nor sexual needs. To help change these perceptions, sixteen (16) Quebec photographers with physical disabilities or who are Deaf created more than fifty visual artworks illustrating their experiences, aspirations, and the barriers they encounter in their sexual lives. Sexualités Sans Tabous is the culmination of their journey: a digital photography exhibition offering an authentic, nuanced, and deeply human perspective on sexuality and disability.
Program highlights:
- Two scientific conferences on the importance of self-representations of sexuality and disability in the media, and on the challenges of integrating sexuality into health and social services.
- Panel discussion providing an opportunity to engage with the photographers and members of the project team.
- Photo exhibition opening featuring three artistic installations designed to explore the digital exhibition.
This event is proud to have the support of the Office des personnes handicapées du Québec (OPHQ).
Admission is free, and the event will be conducted in French.
