Job brief

In order to better support caregivers, the Government of Quebec has created a Quebec Observatory of Caregivers. The CIUSSS west-central Montreal has been given responsibility for the development, organization and administrative management of the Observatory.

The mission of the Observatoire québécois de la proche aidance, as prescribed by law, is to provide reliable and objective information on close aid through the observation, monitoring, analysis and sharing of knowledge. More specifically, the Observatory’s functions are to collect, integrate, compile, analyse and disseminate information, in particular of a statistical nature, on aid; to monitor the evolving needs of caregivers as well as effective and innovative practices, measures and actions at national and international level to support them; to facilitate the transfer of knowledge for the benefit of the various stakeholders involved in the field of assistance; facilitate aid collaborations, in particular with academic institutions, research centres, other observatories or government agencies involved in research activities or the promotion of clinical excellence and the efficient use of resources in the field of health and social services.

The Observatory’s vision is to be a crossroads for the production, sharing and transfer of reliable, essential and relevant knowledge to make known and recognize the close aid in order to better support all the actors concerned.

The Observatory’s target audiences are intersectoral, multidisciplinary and transversal: caregivers, non-governmental organizations, government bodies, the scientific community, the health and social services network and the general public.

Job Summary

Under the authority of the Senior Coordinator of Academic Affairs and Research Ethics, the person holding this position supports the Observatory’s team by contributing to the deployment of the knowledge transfer and communication strategy, in particular to the activities and productions for the launch of the WEB platform and the Observatory’s newsletter, the development and animation of partnerships and the development of creative and effective transfer tools to promote the Observatory and reach its various audiences.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute, in collaboration with the project manager, to the implementation of the work of the Mobilization and Knowledge Transfer pole and the Consultation pole, as provided for in the strategic development plan;
  • Produce knowledge transfer productions of various kinds (infographics, summary sheets, thematic portraits, video capsules, etc.);
  • Support the design and production of the newsletter (e.g. pre-selection of content from a watch, editing and distribution; management of the mailing list);
  • Participate in the continuous updating of the Observatory’s website, including the posting of new content;
  • Participate in the deployment of the visibility strategy via social networks (e.g. selection and publication of content; animation of the online community);
  • Participate in the organization and animation of knowledge mobilization and consultation activities, in the presence or online, with the Observatory’s stakeholders;
  • Support the continuous updating of the Observatory’s stakeholder mapping;
  • Support the validation and revision of the Observatory’s productions;
  • Contribute to any other task related to his/her duties at the request of his/her immediate superior;
  • Must hold a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate university discipline such as administrative sciences, humanities or social sciences, or hold a comparative evaluation of studies carried out outside Québec issued by the competent ministry;
  • Holding a master’s degree is considered an asset.

Knowledge and experience

  • Experience in supporting productions and knowledge mobilization and transfer activities (various formats);
  • Writing experience;
  • Experience in supporting the organization and facilitation of in-person and online consultation activities;
  • Research and analytical experience an asset;
  • Knowledge of the field of close help an asset;
  • Knowledge of the health and social services network and university mission an asset;
  • Skills in extension and knowledge transfer to various target audiences;
  • Proficiency in the Office 365 Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneDrive, Teams);
  • Mastery of graphic editing software an asset (InDesign, Canva, Piktochart)
  • Bilingual: French and English
