Planning, Programming and Research Officer – University Teaching

Job description

Under the authority of the Assistant to the Director of Medical and Academic Education, this position is an individual who is responsible for one or more programs for the purpose of providing professional assistance to the development of services. Develops, improves and documents processes used to manage clerkships. She provides research activities necessary to identify and assess resources and needs. Designs and proposes development plans and programs to ensure adequate service planning. It provides advice on the implementation or improvement of programs and/or services. It may participate in various teaching and training activities.

Main responsibilities

  • Acts as a project manager in relation to teaching activities in the context of the development and consolidation of the university mission at CIUSSS du Centre-Ouest-de-l’île-de-Montréal;
  • Provides professional assistance in the development of services, tools and pedagogical projects of the Medical and University Education Department;
  • Ensures the research, benchmarking and consultation activities necessary for the planning, organization and evaluation of teaching and continuing education activities;
  • Contributes through its analyses and recommendations to the continuous improvement of activities and services.
  • Participates in the reporting process;
  • Participates in the operational management of university and non-university internships within the Medical and University Education Department;
  • Proposes training and professional development activities for clinicians in their mandate as internship supervisor;
  • Provides information monitoring related to best practices in internship supervision;
  • Collaborates with several stakeholders to promote the outreach of the Medical and University Education Directorate;
  • Performs all related tasks to support the Medical and University Education Directorate in its mandate.

Profile required

  • Must have a terminal university degree in health administration sciences, social sciences or appropriate discipline;
  • Graduate degree in a relevant discipline (evaluation, health sciences, education sciences, health administration, public administration, etc.) an asset;
  • Lean training or certification in project management;
  • Knowledge of needs assessment methods is an asset;
  • Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methods, an asset;
  • Experience in supervising internships;
  • Interest in research and evidence;
  • Ability to synthesize and popularize information;
  • Ability to work independently and to organize work;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and to establish collaborative links with the various stakeholders;
  • A good command of spoken and written English and French is essential;
  • Knowledge and mastery of the Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Power Point).
