Julie N. Côté – Appointed Director of the Sylvan Adams Sports Science Institute (SASSI) of McGill University

The main focus of SASSI at McGill University is to create top quality research of elite sports, conducted in a world class facility. Adopting a multidisciplinary research approach, SASSI aspires to be better understand the performance, training and psychology of elite athletes.

 

Julie is a professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Physical Education (KPE) at McGill University, and heads two research laboratories: the McGill Biomechanics of Occupations and Sport Lab (BOS) and the Occupational Biomechanics and Ergonomics Laboratory of the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation (CRIR) of Greater Montreal.

Her current research in the area of sports sciences seeks to develop wearable technology and machine learning applications for use by elite and Paralympic cycling, running, swimming, and speed skating athletes.
