Nomination : Eva Kehayia – Anouk Lamontagne as Site Co-Directors of CRIR-JRH

It is with great pleasure that we announce the appointment of Ms.Eva Kehayia and Ms. Anouk Lamontagne as the new scientific co-directors of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal – Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital (CRIR-JRH), effective September 1st, 2022.

 

Eva Kehayia is an Associate Professor since 2000 and Director of Research since 2021 at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy of McGill University; a researcher at CRIR-HJR, CISSS de Laval, and former Scientific Co-Director of CRIR from 2000 to 2020. Ms. Kehayia obtained her Ph.D. (1990) in Morphology and Neurolinguistics from McGill University in 1993 and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Ottawa in Psycholinguistics. Ms. Kehayia’s research focuses on four areas: 1) the study of language representation, organization and access in individuals with different languages, 2) the study of acquired and degenerative language and communication disorders, 3) the impact of language disorders on the individual’s daily life and participation, 4) the creation of inclusive environments for individuals living with physical disabilities and language limitations.

 

 

 

Anouk Lamontagne is an associate professor at the School of Physical and Occupational Therapy of McGill University since 2003; researcher at the CRIR- HJR Research Centre, CISSS de Laval, since 2003. She is co-director of the Rehabilitation Science program at McGill University and was, until recently, responsible for Axis 1 and Theme 2 at CRIR. Ms. Lamontagne obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy in 1993 and her Master’s degree in Neurobiology in 1995 from Laval University. She then completed a Ph.D. in Neurobiology at Laval University in 1999. Her research interests are oriented towards the evaluation and treatment of locomotor disorders in subjects with central nervous system injuries. She is interested in the use of virtual reality for gait rehabilitation after stroke and head injury. She also has ongoing projects on the control of eye movements during locomotion, as well as the role of visual information in locomotion control.

 

 

Ms. Kehayia and Ms. Lamontagne will work closely at the CISSS de Laval with the DI-TSADP director, Mr. Bibeau, and the administrative director of university teaching and research, Mr. Alex Battaglini. They will also work with the JRH Foundation and of course the co-directors of CRIR, Mr. Philippe Archambault and Ms. Claudine Auger.
