Job Description:
Reporting to the Director of Research, the successful candidate will support research and innovation at the Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille (INLB). In this role, the successful candidate will support research projects and innovative interventions that promote the autonomy and social participation of people with visual impairments; and contribute to the excellence and continuous improvement of clinical services at the INLB. To do so, it will support clinicians, researchers and their teams in the suitability review process, in the recruitment of participants, in the development of research projects, in the dissemination and transfer of knowledge. It will also support the realization of partnership projects and innovative projects, notably through literature searches, reviews of the literature and practices, coaching, etc. It will play an essential role in the dissemination of knowledge generated by the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire en réadaptation du Montréal-métropolitain, site INLB (CRIR-INLB).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support INLB managers, clinicians and researchers in the realization of research projects, whether innovative or in partnership;
- Identify knowledge transfer needs and the best strategies to carry out this transfer;
- According to the projects in progress, set up an information watch;
- Coordinate knowledge transfer and mobilization activities of the INLB such as conferences, symposiums and others; – Set up, according to the projects in progress, an information watch;
- Accompany and support researchers who carry out research projects, notably for the submission of their project in the Nagano platform, the suitability review, the recruitment of participants, etc;
- Ensure the link with the stakeholders and the people in charge of the CRIR;
- Conduct literature searches, literature and practice reviews using electronic databases such as Pubmed, Cairn, Medline, etc;
- Work with bibliographic reference software such as EndNote and Zotero;
- Design and write documents related to research projects;
- Prepare, convene, co-facilitate and/or facilitate meetings of committees or working groups involving clinicians, managers, researchers or others;
- Develop measurement tools;
- Ensure a rigorous follow-up of the deadlines of the various mandates entrusted to him/her;
- Ensure the review of work processes related to the activities of the research and innovation department in order to optimize operations;
- Develops follow-up tools and procedures to support the execution of work;
- Apply the rules relating to responsible conduct in research, confidentiality, conservation, circulation and destruction of documents, files and information obtained in the performance of his/her duties, all in accordance with the laws;
- Ensure the maintenance and development of his/her skills in relation to his/her field of intervention;
- Participate in meetings and committees where his/her presence is required;
- Perform any other related duties at the request of his/her immediate superior.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
- Must have a bachelor’s degree in an appropriate academic discipline such as business, humanities or social sciences.
- Graduate degree in research, information science or other appropriate discipline (an asset)
- Training in literature review methods
- Training in program evaluation (an asset)
- Excellent research and analytical, synthesis and writing skills
- Knowledge of research methods
- Working knowledge of searching known electronic databases (Pubmed, Cairn, Medline, etc.)
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of models, theories and concepts related to knowledge transfer
- Ability and desire for autonomy and initiative – Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in French and English
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and bibliographic software (EndNote, Zotero)
