Main tasks

Through your teaching of undergraduate and graduate students, and your research activities, you will contribute to promoting the Faculty’s excellence. You will also promote the reputation of your discipline and play an active role in the operations of a renowned institution. As such, you will :

  • Teach courses offered in physiotherapy and rehabilitation science programs at all levels, using a variety of teaching methods and formats;
  • Supervise graduate students in rehabilitation science or other programs in the context of interdisciplinary or intersectoral collaborations;
  • Conduct research and knowledge transfer activities in an area of expertise related to physiotherapy or rehabilitation;
  • Actively contribute to the operation and strategic development of physiotherapy programs;
  • Participate in School of Rehabilitation and Faculty of Medicine committees and bodies;
  • Promote physiotherapy in the scientific and professional communities, as well as in the community through community partnerships.

Responsibilities

  • Hold or be eligible for a physiotherapy license issued by the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec;
  • Have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in a field related to physiotherapy or a relevant discipline;
  • Expertise in movement sciences, pediatrics or geriatrics is an asset;
  • Post-doctoral research training or experience as an independent researcher;
  • Demonstrate an excellent scientific contribution based on various performance indicators and career advancement stage;
  • Propose a promising research program in physiotherapy or a related field;
  • Demonstrate an aptitude for providing quality university education;
  • Demonstrate potential for developing internal, national and international collaborations;
  • Demonstrate potential for mentoring graduate students;
  • Have sufficient knowledge of the French language or be determined to learn it once in post through the French language learning support program offered by UdeM, under the Université de Montréal Language Policy.

  • The application file sent to the School’s management must include the following documents, before the posting deadline of November 5, 2024:
  • A cover letter (maximum two pages);
  • A curriculum vitae;
  • A copy of three recent publications or research papers;
  • A one-page summary of the company’s teaching and management philosophy;
  • A presentation of the research program (maximum two pages);
  • A minimum of three letters of reference sent directly by the author to the School management;
  • A presentation of the research center(s) associated with the University of Montreal where the research program could be deployed, briefly explaining the reasons (maximum one page).
