Main tasks

  • Teach courses in physiotherapy and rehabilitation science programs at all levels;
  • Provide leadership in the cardiorespiratory and vascular fields;
  • Supervise graduate students in rehabilitation science or other programs in the context of interdisciplinary or intersectoral collaborations;
  • Conduct research and knowledge transfer activities in prevention, evaluation and rehabilitation in the cardiorespiratory and vascular fields;
  • You will be actively involved in the operation and strategic development of the physiotherapy programs;
  • Participate in School of Rehabilitation and Faculty of Medicine committees and bodies;
  • Contribute to the influence of physiotherapy in the scientific and professional communities, as well as in the community through community partnerships.

Profile required

  • Hold or be eligible for a physiotherapy license issued by the Ordre professionnel de la physiothérapie du Québec;
  • Have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in a field related to physiotherapy or a relevant discipline;
  • Expertise in cardiorespiratory and vascular rehabilitation;
  • Post-doctoral research training or experience as an independent researcher;
  • Demonstrate an excellent scientific contribution based on various performance indicators and career advancement stage;
  • Propose a promising research program in cardiorespiratory and vascular physiotherapy or a related field;
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide quality teaching in an academic or clinical physiotherapy setting;
  • Demonstrate potential for developing internal, national and international collaborations;
  • Demonstrate potential for mentoring graduate students;
  • Certification as an exercise physiologist by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) will be considered an asset;
  • Have sufficient knowledge of the French language or be determined to learn it once in post through the French language learning support program
    offered by UdeM, under the Université de Montréal Language Policy.

  • A copy of three recent publications or research papers;
  • A one-page summary of the company’s teaching and management philosophy;
  • A presentation of the research program (maximum two pages);
  • A minimum of three letters of reference sent directly by the author to the School management;
  • A brief description of the research center(s) associated with the Université de Montréal where the research program could be deployed, with a brief explanation of the reasons (maximum one page).
