💡A recap of an inspiring meeting

Yesterday, Walter Wittich, a researcher at CRIR-INLB & CRIR-LLMRC, had the pleasure of welcoming Arthur Theil du Human-Computer Interaction Research Centre at Birmingham City University (BCU) to the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre (LLMRC) for a captivating talk on the co-design of accessible technologies with people who are blind or have low vision.

Using real-life examples from his work in digital accessibility, assistive technologies and user experience, Arthur demonstrated just how important it is to design with the people concerned, rather than simply for them.

THE RESULT?

Technologies that meet not only the needs but also the interests of people who are blind or have low vision.

💖 A SPECIAL MENTION for the tactile and audio star map 🌠 and the Braille calligram (graphic poem) software✒️!

Thank you to Arthur for visiting Montreal and for the fruitful discussions with everyone present in person and online.
