The CRIR is proud to highlight the remarkable international media attention received by Marc Roig Pull, Ph.D., researcher at the CRIR-Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital, Santé Québec Laval and professor at McGill University. A recent study conducted by his laboratory has generated significant interest worldwide, underscoring the impact and relevance of the research carried out within our network.

🧠 Exercise and Sleep Deprivation: Compelling Findings

The study shows that just 20 minutes of moderate‑to‑vigorous exercise can preserve memory as effectively as a 90‑minute nap after a prolonged period of sleep deprivation (30 hours). Participants who exercised or slept performed approximately 22% better on memory tests compared to those who received no intervention.

These findings highlight a simple, accessible, and low‑cost strategy to support individuals facing sleep loss—particularly in sectors where errors can have serious consequences, such as healthcare, transportation, and emergency services.
