Virtual Reality to trick Pain – Dr Cyril Duclos Pilot Project

In a recent article in La Presse, journalist Philippe Mercure met the team of Dr Cyril Duclos who is exploring the possibilities of virtual reality in an attempt to act on the level of pain perception.

Thanks to the collaboration of Mélanie Labelle, partner-patient at the Gingras-Lindsay Rehabilitation Institute, the team was able to develop an intervention protocol aimed at reducing the neuropathic pain experienced. Combined with direct current transcranial stimulation, a virtual environment provides a soothing environment that promotes relaxation.
