Research assistant
Job description
The research assistant will be part of the Nursing and Health Professionals Education research team, headed by Professor Marie-France Deschênes. The research assistantship will focus on nursing competencies in physical rehabilitation, and on shared decision-making in the context of interdisciplinary practice in physical rehabilitation. The team is funded by CRIR’s New Initiatives program and the Réseau Provincial de Recherche en Adaptation-Réadaptation (REPAR).
Challenging tasks
- Participation in the selection of relevant literature on nursing skills in rehabilitation
- Reading scientific articles to extract data relevant to the study of nursing skills in rehabilitation
- Contribute to the recruitment of participants for the shared decision-making project
- Organize and conduct focus groups and participant interviews
- Participate in data coding and analysis
- Conduct literature searches on shared decision-making in interdisciplinary rehabilitation settings
Profile required
- Academic level: Master’s degree obtained or in progress in a field relevant to the job (e.g. nursing, rehabilitation, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, etc.).
- Language skills: excellent command of French, bilingualism desirable
- Technological skills: proficiency in Office suite
- Knowledge of and/or interest in using reference management and sorting software for knowledge synthesis (i.e. Covidence, EndNote)
- Professional skills: knowledge of the nursing and rehabilitation environment desirable
- Personal skills: rigor, teamwork, priority management
