Clinical Research Coordinator

JOB DESCRIPTION

The CRIR-HJR research site is recognized worldwide. Associated with McGill University in the field of rehabilitation research, it brings together 22 researchers, 35 graduate students, 12 state-of-the-art laboratories on site and a team of 4 research engineers in addition to clinical researchers.

Under the authority of the site manager at the CRIR/HJR – CISSS de Laval, in direct collaboration with the scientific directors of the CRIR, the clinical research coordinator establishes links between clinicians and researchers and promotes the development of a research culture within the organization

Task and responsibilities

The candidate will fulfill this term by performing the following duties:

  • Coordinates and stimulates clinical research at CRIR, Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital site;
  • Acts as an intermediary between clinicians and research experts;
  • Is on the lookout for research needs arising from problems related to the clinical profile of the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital’s clientele;
  • Promotes research-clinical linkages;
  • Assists clinicians in the planning of research projects in order to solve problems raised at the clinical level, in the preparation of grant applications, in the realization of their projects, and in the presentation of their results;
  • Supports the implementation of various clinical research projects;
  • Facilitates the dissemination of research results;
  • Coordinates the evaluation and acceptance in terms of institutional suitability of proposed research projects and the follow-up of projects;
  • Supports clinicians in the submission of grant applications and presentation of results.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Status : Contractual, renewable annually
  • Work schedule: 3 days / 2 weeks
  • Workplace: CRIR-Research Site of the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital, 3205 Alton-Goldbloom Place
  • Shift: Day
  • Salary range: $25.25 to $45.22 / hour (depending on experience)

REQUIREMENTS

  • The applicant must have a first terminal university degree in economics, business or social sciences or other appropriate discipline preferably in rehabilitation or other health science disciplines. The individual must also meet the following requirements:
  • A Master’s degree in the health sciences (an advantage);
  • Clinical Practice Experience;
  • Experience in rehabilitation;
  • A strong sense of synthesis;
  • Good knowledge of the needs and problems of rehabilitation clients;
  • Good knowledge of the services offered to rehabilitation clients in the health care network;
  • Ability to establish partnerships;
  • Proven leadership;
  • Strong interpersonal skills;
  • Strong writing, verbal communication and facilitation skills;
  • Demonstrated involvement in various committees or work groups.
