Job description

The Institut universitaire sur la réadaptation en déficience physique de Montréal (IURDPM) is looking for a Communications Officer. Under the supervision of the Head of Department, and in close collaboration with the Scientific Director of the IURDPM-CRIR, the candidate’s main mandate will be to support the IURDPM’s internal and external communications.

Main tasks

  • Help develop IURDPM’s communication plan to reach different target audiences.
  • Develop and manage the IURDPM partner list, participate in internal and external communications.
  • Manage the IURDPM website and social networks (editing, content review, usage indicators, etc.).
  • Produce various products such as highlights, intervention kits and research reports.
  • Produce the Newsletter.
  • Capture and document the achievements of IURDPM researchers in a register, and promote them through various IURDPM, CIUSSS and CRIR channels.
  • Follow up on requests for communications from researchers and IURDPM team members.
  • Participate in the organization of events such as partner meetings, symposia or activities aimed at the general public.
  • Support the programming of IURDPM scientific activities (lunchtime lectures, student presentations, etc.).
  • Write and prepare minutes, presentations and reports, and contribute to IURDPM’s annual review.

Profile required

  • Academic level: college or university degree with specialization in communications, other training may be considered with significant work experience in communications.
  • Experience: minimum of two years’ experience in a communications-related position. Experience in a scientific or rehabilitation environment an asset.
  • Language skills: excellent writing and communication skills in French, bilingualism an asset.
  • Technological skills: autonomy in the use of the Office suite© , page layout software and other software relevant to the position, knowledge of web tools and social media.
  • Personal skills: sense of responsibility, autonomy, creativity, ability to work in a context of consultation and partnership, attention to detail and rigor, ability to work on several files at once.
