Knowledge Mobilization Advisor

Job brief

Created in 1980, the Institut de recherche Robert-Sauvé en santé et en sécurité du travail (IRSST) contributes to the health and safety of workers through research, the expertise of its laboratories, and the dissemination and transfer of knowledge, with a view to sustainable prevention and return to work.

Reporting to the Director of Knowledge Monitoring and Mobilization, the individual is responsible for developing and supporting the implementation of knowledge transfer and mobilization strategies and activities for the theme of rehabilitation and return to work. She participates in the identification of OHS knowledge needs, develops and implements strategies to implement activities that promote the appropriation and mobilization of knowledge by practice settings. She contributes to scientific monitoring in her field of expertise. The person leads and collaborates on various committees and working groups, carries out expert assessments and may be called upon to participate in symposia, congresses or other events or to carry out other related tasks.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conducts and coordinates all knowledge mobilization activities.
  • Analyzes the needs of partners.
  • Conducts literature reviews.
  • Adapts scientific content and develops popularization approaches.
  • Organizes and facilitates collaborative activities.
  • Implements collaboration strategies with OHS partners.
  • Monitors events, projects and publications in rehabilitation and return to work.

Required Skills

  • Master’s degree in rehabilitation science or a function-related field.
  • Ph.D. in a field related to the function is an asset.
  • 2 years of experience in an applied research environment and experience in knowledge transfer and mobilization is an asset.
  • Knowledge of work rehabilitation, the medico-administrative process, clinical settings, professional colleges and associations, and workplaces is essential.
  • Knowledge of the occupational health and safety network is an asset.
  • Ability to coordinate and facilitate groups as well as the ability to interact with external partners.
  • Be able to handle multiple files simultaneously and work in a team.
  • Demonstrate a high level of autonomy, dynamism and be results-oriented.
  • Possess very good synthesis and analytical skills.
  • Have an excellent command of the French language and a very good knowledge of the English language, both oral and written.
