Project manager at Carrefour des savoirs

Le Carrefour des savoirs is an infrastructure financed by the Fond de Recherche du Québec – Santé. Initiated by the Centre de recherche interdisciplinaire et réadaptation du Montréal métropolitain (CRIR), Le Carrefour des savoirs focuses on the professional development of graduate students in the health and social services fields. The main components of the program are a professional development pathway, springboard internships, career coaching, a symposium and the organization of conferences and training sessions.

Job description

Under the functional responsibility of the coordinator and in collaboration with the monitoring and management committees, the project manager designs and implements activities and services related to the new Carrefour des savoirs programming. More specifically, this person welcomes students, leads workshops, ensures the dissemination of relevant information from universities and other external partners, develops new content aimed at professional development, facilitates participation in internships and co-organizes events. She plays a pivotal role with the student community. Performs all other related tasks.

Main tasks

  • Designs and implements professional development programming for graduate students
  • Engages students and external collaborators
  • Supports the student community in the use of professional development tools (e.g. skills assessment)
  • Raise awareness of student professional development within the research community
  • Disseminates information and supports the student community in the internship commitment process

Profile required

Academic training

  • Undergraduate degree in a discipline such as counselling, career development, administrative sciences, humanities or social sciences
  • Experience and knowledge required
  • Experience (min. 2 years) in the professional development of university students
  • Experience in setting up activities and leading groups
  • Knowledge of academia an asset

Languages and software

  • Excellent command of spoken and written French. Very good command of English.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft 365 environment
  • Comfortable with social media, knowledge of WordPress software an asset

Expected key competencies

  • Autonomy and sense of priorities
  • Ability to mobilize students and partners, lead student groups and generate interest.
  • Thoroughness and attention to detail

Working conditions

  • Working in hybrid mode – 1 to 2 days/week in person
  • Close to parks and public transport, access to secure bicycle parking, on-site cafeteria
  • Hourly rate based on the CCSMTL scale, benefits, group insurance plan, 4 weeks’ annual vacation.
