Project description

This initiative aims to engage the rehabilitation community through an interactive digital repository of methodological tools and approaches for designing and evaluating the usability of rehabilitation technologies. The concept of usability (ISO 9241-11) can help guide the development of technologies and document how efficient, effective, and satisfying they are for people using it and their ecosystem. The initiative aims to exchange on the methodologies available to evaluate technologies at various stages of development, from proof of concept to post-design evaluation in the laboratory and then in the living environment.

The UTech interactive digital directory for “Ubilisability of Technologies” or “Usability of Technologies” includes a series of fact sheets which criticise the various tools and approaches identified and allow them to be commented on and exchanged on a forum about specific methods and tools. The directory identifies REPAR members who have expertise on them. The expected benefits are an optimization of the methodological quality and competitiveness of applied research in the field of rehabilitation technologies.

Who are we?

Prof. Claudine Auger, Université de Montréal (CRIR, IURDPM-CCSMTL) and Prof. Karine Latulippe (TELUQ, i-TEQ) are co-leading the provincial initiative supported by REPAR.
