The Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux du Centre-Ouest-de-l’Île-de-Montréal (CIUSSS Centre-Ouest) is committed to providing users of our services with timely access to a continuum of care that meets the specific needs of each individual. The territory covered by the CIUSSS Centre-Ouest is home to some 345,000 people who are served by more than 30 care centres. It includes one of Montreal’s leading hospitals (the Jewish General Hospital) and a wide range of complementary care centres, including three specialty hospitals, five CLSCs, two rehabilitation centres, six residential and long-term care centres, two day centres and several affiliated research centres. Treatment and care are provided by more than 11,000 staff members and some 750 doctors.

As part of its university mission, under the aegis of the Directorate of Academic Affairs and Research Ethics (DAAER), the CIUSSS Centre-Ouest supports the advancement of knowledge and practices related to health and social sciences through excellence in research, teaching and innovation, which ultimately enhances the care and services provided by the institution. In terms of research, the DAAER’s mandate is to support, among other things, the development of a scientific culture in physical rehabilitation through the mobilization of knowledge, research, and innovations to ensure an exceptional patient experience (avoirs.Réadaptation). The DAAER works closely with its partners in the Rehabilitation and Multidisciplinary Services Branch (MSRD) and the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Users’ Committee. The CIUSSS Centre-Ouest is a proud founding member of the Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Metropolitan Montreal (www.crir.ca).

Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Team Leader and the authority of the Program Administration Manager of the CIUSSS Centre-Ouest DAAER, the individual will act as the project manager for the coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of physical rehabilitation research activities at the CIUSSS Centre-Ouest. It will contribute to the development and improvement of the physical rehabilitation research infrastructure.

More specifically, this person will be responsible for:

  • Ensure follow-ups of research projects (e.g., keep the database up to date in Redcap);
  • Create and update research management processes, tools, templates;
  • Organize project-related events, such as collaborative research meetings, planning workshops, and seminars;
  • Coordinate infrastructure management and planning activities (e.g., coordination of meetings, drafting minutes, monitoring budgets, preparation of tables, etc.);
  • Coordinate the preparation, conceptualization, and submission of grant applications by member researchers;
  • Coordinate and support member researchers’ requests for ethics submissions;
  • Contribute, through analyses and recommendations, to the continuous improvement of research infrastructure activities and services
  • Communicate information and project status to all parties involved, escalating key issues to the manager;
  • Participate in the writing of scientific and popularized productions, according to the progress of the work;
  • Conduct consultations with partners and users;
  • All other related tasks.

Profile

Hold an appropriate first university degree such as in administrative sciences, humanities or social sciences or hold a comparative evaluation of studies completed outside Québec issued by the competent ministry.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE

  • Have a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a similar position;
  • Experience in the health care system and research environment is desirable;
  • Have project management skills;
  • Have skills in the use of digital technologies;
  • Have a good understanding of the organization’s issues;
  • Have a mastery of the Office suite;
  • Have an excellent command of spoken and written French and English.
