A Look at the Contribution of Rehabilitation Engineering

On October 21, 2024, the team at CRIR–Montreal University Institute for Rehabilitation in Physical Disabilities (IURDPM) was pleased to welcome Professors Cristóbal Ochoa Luna and Jorge Alberto Pérez Ladrón de Guevara from the School of Engineering and Sciences at Tecnológico de Monterrey (Mexico), as part of a scientific networking event and a tour of the laboratories.

This meeting provided an opportunity to foster discussions on the role of engineering in rehabilitation and to explore potential avenues for international collaboration. On this occasion, Professor Guillaume Durandau (CRIR-HJR) also presented his laboratory’s research agenda in neuromechanics and robotic control, highlighting the complementary expertise of the teams.
CRIR was represented by: Philippe Archambault (CRIR Scientific Co-Director), Ateayeh Bayat (Ph.D. candidate under the supervision of Félix Chénier, CRIR-IURDPM Researcher), Marika Demers (CRIR-IURDPM Researcher), Vincent Létourneau-Desjardins (IURDPM Research Associate), Johanne Higgins (CRIR-IURDPM researcher), Kaitlyn Weare (IURDPM clinical research coordinator), and Claudia Bojanowski (CRIR Coordinator – Partnerships and Knowledge Mobilization).
