Nomination of the Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital Institutional Researcher – Tatiana Ogourtsova, Ph.D.

It is with great pleasure that we are announcing the appointment of Tatiana Ogourtsova, Ph.D. as our new Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Rehabilitation of Greater Montreal – Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital (CRIR–JRH) Site Researcher, CISSS de Laval, effective March 15th, 2021.

Tatiana Ogourtsova obtained her B.Sc. in Occupational Therapy in 2006 and her M.Sc. in Rehabilitation Sciences in 2010 at McGill University, School of Physical and Occupational Therapy. She then completed a Ph.D. in Rehabilitation Sciences at McGill University, in 2017. She then completed two postdoctoral fellowships at the University of British Columbia and McGill University/The Research Institute of McGill University Health Center in the field of pediatrics. She is also a clinician with nearly a decade of clinical experience in acute and subacute care in neurology and neurosurgery at the Montreal Neurological Hospital. Tatiana Ogourtsova’s Ph.D. work focused on the perceptuo-motor control of walking and navigation in post-stroke unilateral spatial neglect (USN), the development of a novel virtual-reality based assessment tool for USN, and advancement of current clinical practices in the field of USN management. In her postdoctoral research, she explored emerging approaches related to health-coaching in childhood disability, patient-oriented research strategies, and health services optimization for children with developmental disabilities and their families.

Tatiana Ogourtsova will be working closely with the JRH pediatric program, including clinicians and patient-partners. She will lead a comprehensive, innovative, high-quality, and competitive research program, directly targeting the priorities of children with disabilities, their families, and our clinicians in the pediatric program.
