Job description

The incumbent will support the realization of a research project of a team formed by Pr Tony Leroux, researcher at the CRIR-Institut universitaire en réadaptation physique de Montréal and two clinicians of the deafblindness program (jointly managed by the Centre de réadaptation en déficience physique Raymond-Dewar of the CIUSSS-Centre-Sud-de-l’Ile-de-Montréal and the Institut Nazareth et Louis-Braille of the CISSS de la Montérégie-Centre) A new tool for evaluating auditory localization was developed by this research team. It consists of a horizontal sphere equipped with 20 loudspeakers distributed over 360°. Different protocols have been developed to measure the auditory localization abilities of people with vision problems who use their auditory abilities to support their movements outdoors. The project to which you could contribute aims to verify if these protocols are adequate, valid and useful in a clinical setting.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Under the supervision of a clinician in audiology and with the collaboration of a second research assistant, to carry out with the participants the auditory localization measurements provided for in the research protocol.
• Verify the data entry of the research in the electronic analysis tools provided for this purpose.

PROFILE REQUIRED

• Excellent oral and written French language skills.
• Excellent ability to relate to others.
• Proficiency in the Windows environment of office software (Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, Teams)
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills, rigor and flexibility.

EMPLOYMENT INFORMATION

• Workplace: Centre de réadaptation en déficience physique Raymond-Dewar Address: 3800 Radisson, Montreal (Quebec) H1M 1X6 (Radisson metro).
• Job status: Part-time position, approximately 12 hours/week (flexible schedule, mostly evenings and weekends); 3-month contract.
• Salary: According to the hourly rates in effect in the establishment and according to the expertise and experience of the candidate.
• Start date: The position is available immediately.
