“Overview of economic evaluation methods for healthcare interventions”

The presentation will approach health economics and economic evaluations as a set of methods within the discipline. It will clarify the key concepts of the methods (including the notion of utility), the elements of cost and the tools for measuring concepts such as health-related quality of life.

  • The activity will be presented in French and English
  • The presentation will last 30 minutes, followed by a 30-minute Q&A session. Submit your questions in advance via this link.

Maude Laberge, Ph.D,
Professeure agrégée au Département de médecine sociale et préventive, Université Laval
Chercheuse régulière, Centre de recherche du CHU de Québec, Université Laval
Chercheuse régulière, Vitam – Centre de recherche en santé durable, Université Laval

  • Pr. Laberge holds a PhD in health services with a specialization in health economics from the University of Toronto. She is interested in the economic analysis and evaluation of health policies and services, with a particular focus on transformations that can improve the quality, equity and efficiency of health and social services. Her expertise lies in primary care, more specifically on service organization and financing models.
