Tatiana Ogourtsova, Ph.D., OT
Assistant Professor (Professional), School of Physical and Occupational Therapy, McGill University – Pediatric Researcher
Jewish Rehabilitation Hospital (CISSS Laval, CRIR).
Tatiana Ogourtsova is an Assistant Professor at McGill University and a researcher in pediatric rehabilitation, with over 20 years of experience spanning clinical practice, research, and teaching. Her work focuses on evidence-based practices for children with neurodevelopmental disabilities and their families, with a strong emphasis on technology-enabled innovation and co-design.
She leads the development of digital health solutions including e-coaching programs for families, telerehabilitation platforms, online training modules for clinicians, and immersive virtual reality interventions to support engagement, motor learning, and well-being. A defining feature of Tatiana’s work is its patient-oriented approach, where families, youth, and clinicians are actively engaged as partners in the development, implementation, and evaluation of novel approaches.
Conference description
This session is divided into two parts. In Part I, the results of the WE PLAY | ON JOUE project will be presented. This project piloted an innovative program for youth with developmental disabilities and their parents. The program used immersive virtual reality to support engagement and motor skill development in youth, alongside relaxation and meditation experiences for parents. In Part II, the EDIT-CP (Early Detection and Intervention Toolkit for Cerebral Palsy) project will be presented. This includes findings from related activities focused on training pediatric rehabilitation clinicians in the use of the toolkit, as well as physicians’ perspectives on early CP detection and the implementation of PROMPTs for referral.
