This conference is presented jointly by the Institut universitaire sur la réadaptation en déficience physique de Montréal (IURDPM) and the Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Centre.

This conference will focus on the phenomenon of sensitivity to physical activity among people with persistent musculoskeletal pain. In this presentation, sensitivity to physical activity will be defined from a biopsychosocial perspective of pain and the latest evidence. This will be followed by an overview of clinical assessment methods used in our studies, as well as implications for prognosis, physiotherapy treatments, and rehabilitation for people with elevated hypersensitivity to physical activity. Everything will be discussed with the support of findings from previous studies as well as studies and analyses currently underway. Applicability and relevance to clinical practice will be highlighted throughout the presentation.

Arthur Woznowski-Vu a complété une maîtrise professionnelle en physiothérapie à l’Université McGill en 2013. Il a travaillé comme physiothérapeute en clinique privée auprès d’une clientèle musculosquelettique variée. Curieux à mieux comprendre le phénomène de la douleur, Arthur s’est engagé dans un doctorat en science de la réadaptation à l’Université McGill sous la supervision du chercheur Timothy Wideman. Sa thèse se concentre sur les phénomènes de la douleur persistante et la sensibilité à l’activité physique. Arthur fait un peu d’enseignement universitaire et est président de la division Science de la douleur de l’Association canadienne de physiothérapie.
