She earned both her BSc. Occupational Therapy and MSc. in Rehabilitation Sciences from McGill. She is currently a PhD candidate in Rehabilitation Sciences (McGill) investigating the phenomena of attrition and retention in the rehabilitation professions.

Description: Attrition is an issue among rehabilitation professionals worldwide. Approximately 10-15% of Canadian rehabilitation professionals (OTs, PTs, S-LPs) leave their profession within two years of graduation. This permanent loss of rehabilitation professionals from the workforce poses a serious challenge for a health care system’s capacity to provide quality rehabilitation services to those who need it. Based on findings from a recent scoping review, we will discuss the reasons for why rehabilitation professionals decide to stay in, or leave their profession, and possible strategies to support their retention.
