Research Activity Support Officer

JOB DESCRIPTION

Under the authority of the Head of Program Administration, Academic Affairs and Research Ethics, CIUSSS West Central, the successful candidate will act as a resource and provide support for the management of the research activities of the CRIR researchers affiliated with CIUSSS West Central. He/she will also support the physical rehabilitation research structure, the coordination of research activities and the administrative management of the team.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

More specifically, this person will be responsible for assisting the CRIR researchers affiliated with the CIUSSS West-Central in research activities, including:

  • Support for the development of research projects: e.g., literature review, selection and design of data collection tools, selection or development of analysis methods;
  • Support in the preparation, conceptualization and submission of grant applications (including CV preparation);
  • Support in the preparation, conceptualization and submission to relevant research ethics boards;
  • Support in the implementation of research projects: e.g., participant recruitment support, survey creation, data entry support, data management and research materials; data analysis;
  • Support for the preparation and submission of scientific papers or synthesis reports: layout and submission of scientific articles, preparation and layout of presentations or posters;
  • Clerical support for the coordination of research activities: e.g., meeting coordination, report writing, budget follow-up, preparation of tables, reception and orientation of students and research professionals, billing, employment contracts, payment requests, etc.

Conditions and advantages

  • 35h/week for one year (renewable)
  • Compensation between $25.25 – $45.22 per hour to be determined according to the candidate’s experience in relation to the position

Requirements

  • Have a minimum of an undergraduate degree in the social sciences or health fields;
  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar position;
  • Desirable experience in the health care system and research environment;
  • Have relevant experience in research environments;
  • Excellent command of French and English, spoken and written;
  • Must be willing to work at least 2 days a week on site (Lethbridge-Layton-Mackay Rehabilitation Center);
  • Master the Office Suite;
  • Master the use of documentary databases;
  • Social media skills (an asset);
  • Proficiency in quantitative or qualitative analysis software (an asset).

  • Excellent writing skills; scientific and popularization of research;
  • High synthesis capacity;
  • Good adaptability;
  • Understand the organizational issues;
  • Autonomous, rigorous and have a good sense of organization;
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and to establish collaborative links with the various actors involved.
