Postdoctoral fellowship

The Knowledge Exchange and Education in the health Professions (K.E.E.P) Lab is seeking applications from candidates interested in pursing a one-year postdoctoral fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Aliki Thomas. Research in the K.E.E.P Lab focuses on knowledge mobilization (KM) for evidence-based practice (EBP), implementation science (IS) and health professions education. Ongoing studies are exploring topics such as the development and assessment of advanced clinical competencies including evidence-based practice and shared decision-making, epistemic justice, person-centred and evidence informed care, access to rehabilitation services, and the education, practice, and policy nexus for evidence informed care.

The successful candidate. work on one ongoing SSHRC funded study. They will conduct high level independent research in KM and IS, EBP and higher education in rehabilitation and other health professions (e.g. nursing, SLP, PT, medicine). Funding is available for the first year. The successful candidate will be expected to apply for competitive post-doctoral funding to support the second year of the fellowship.

AN APPLICANTS MUST HAVE A BACKGROUND IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  1. Rehabilitation (e.g. occupational therapy, physical therapy);
  2. Health professions education and/or other relevant health discipline;
  3. KM and IS are invited to apply.

APPLICATIONS WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE OF AND/OR EXPERIENCE IN THESE AREAS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED.

The successful candidate will have a strong record of academic achievement during their doctoral studies, and evidence of scholarly outputs including peer reviewed publications and conference presentations.

The post-doctoral fellow will work independently with 2 larger research teams, oversee the daily activities of the lab and work with junior trainees (MSc and PhD students).
