CRIR Graduate Scholarships Program | 2026
INSTRUCTIONS
Application deadline: Sunday, May 10, 2026, 11:45 p.m.
To be eligible for the CRIR graduate scholarship competition, you must:
- Be registered in a regular research master’s, doctoral research program in fall 2026;
- Be a CRIR student member in good standing at CRIR (for those starting in the fall of 2026, please complete the membership registration form now here);
- Be supervised by a researcher with regular member status at the CRIR (your principal supervisor) who is in good standing;
- Have achieved a cumulative grade point averages (GPA) greater than 3.5 out of 4.3 or 3.1 out of 4.0, or the equivalent, throughout all of your university studies (bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral).

We recommend that you review the Graduate Scholarships Program and the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) before you begin preparing your application.
- Have your application reviewed before submitting it to CRIR: We recommend that you have your research proposal and resume reviewed by your principal supervisor. Student support services are also available at universities to assist with scholarship applications: University of Montreal (student support), University of Montreal (preparation guide), UQAM (student support), McGill University (student support).
- Evaluation grid: take note of the evaluation grid, before and after preparing your application.
- Application form: Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*), and some items are “optional” or “if applicable.”
- Guidelines for naming your documents: Last name, First name, Level of study, Type of document (e.g., project, transcripts, resume).
- Save and continue later: The information you enter can be saved at any time. Simply use the “Save and continue later” button at the bottom of the page. You can return to the form at a later time. You will receive a link via email. You have up to 90 days to complete the form. Note: Documents that must be attached in PDF format should only be added when you submit the final, completed form.
- Documents to attach: Documents must be inserted individually in the designated sections of the form and then combined into a single PDF file, which must be uploaded at section 11 of the form.
Incomplete applications: Incomplete applications will be withdrawn from the competition before being reviewed by the evaluation committee.
