CRIR Graduate Scholarships Program | 2024

To be eligible for the CRIR Graduate Scholarships Program, you must :

  • Be registered in a regular research master’s, doctoral research program or postdoctoral training program in fall 2024;
  • Be a CRIR student member in good standing at CRIR (for Fall 2024 registrations, you must complete the membership form now);
  • Be supervised by a CRIR “regular researcher” (your principal director) with a status in good standing;
  • Have obtained a cumulative grade point average greater than 3.5 out of 4.3 or 3.1 out of 4.0, or equivalent, throughout your university studies (Bachelor’s, Master’s, Doctorate).

Important

  • Have your research project checked: We recommend that you have your research project and curriculum vitae checked by your principal director. Student support services are also available at universities for the preparation of grant applications: Université de Montréal (student support), Université de Montréal (preparation guide), UQAM (student support), McGill University (student support).
  • Consult the application form below and evaluation grid and the evaluation grid before and after preparing your application.
  • Instructions for naming your documents : Last name, First name, Level of study, Document type (e.g. project, transcript, resume).
  • Required fields are marked with an asterisk (*).
  • The information entered can be saved at any time. Simply use the “Save and continue later” button at the bottom of the page. It is possible to return to the form at a later date. You will receive a hyperlink by email. A maximum of 90 days is provided for completion.

  • 1. Your name and contact information

  • 2. Principal director

  • Your principal director must be a regular CRIR researcher in good standing

  • 3. University, level of training (between September 2024 and April 2025) and research focus

  • (People must be registered by fall 2024)
  • Please check your principal director's axis on the CRIR website
  • 4. DOCUMENTS AND INFORMATION REQUIRED FOR YOUR APPLICATION

  • Maximum 2 pages. Your documents must be submitted in Times New Roman 12, 1.0 spacing, minimum margins 2.54 cm. A reference list can be added as an appendix.

  • A copy of your curriculum vitae of your choice, including scholarships and awards received – Indicate the amounts received and the dates covered by the scholarship(s). It is strongly recommended to use the CV format: CIHR short format

      *PLEASE NOTE – International students : you must also provide an equivalency table between your cumulative averages in your country and those in Quebec (3.5 out of 4.3 or 3.1 out of 4.0). This chart is required : to confirm your eligibility for the competition. Some universities offer a comparative table service.

      • 5. Capacity for commitment

      • “Capacity for commitment*: integrated pathway, social mobilization, sustainable health and principles of equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI)” (1 page maximum)

        By “commitment” we mean civic participation, a contribution to the life of one’s community and to the common good. Example: Tell us your story! Demonstrate achievements that are specific to your background, describe what you will do in the coming year to get involved.

        Nous vous invitons donc à :

        • Present your career path in an integrated way, establishing the links between your experiences and interests on the one hand, and your choices of orientation, training and academic path on the other. This description should give the evaluation committee a clear understanding of your personal background.
        • Present and describe the activities that demonstrate your ability to bring science and society into dialogue (e.g. popularization activities, participation in events aimed at the general public) and your capacity for commitment (e.g. volunteer work, community projects, civic and community involvement, organization of events).
        • Specify how your research project takes sustainable health (docx) and EDI principles into account.

      • Example: involvement in the CRIR student committee, participation inprogrammation scientifique activities, development of cross-disciplinary skills through activities organized by the Carrefour des savoirs, etc.

      • 7. INTERRUPTION OR SLOWDOWN IN YOUR RESEARCH ACTIVITIES – OPTIONAL

      • 8. PROVIDE PROOF OF PARTICIPATION IN TWO COMPETITIONS FROM RECOGNIZED ORGANIZATIONS IN THE CURRENT YEAR – IF APPLICABLE
